Naval Battle of Guadalcanal

After several escort missions Aaron Ward joined the covering force at Guadalcanal, October 17, 1942. During the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal, November 13, 1942, she performed gallantly, and took nine hits killing 15 of her crew and wounding 55.
